CGAC has always depended upon parent involvement to keep the club successful.
With that in mind, there has been some confusion on how to earn your 6 volunteer
credits for short course season. Hopefully this will answer all of your
questions. First of all, there is good news. Families only need to earn 5
volunteer credits during short course season due to the large membership we have
this year. Our club hosts 2 big meets during short course, one in November and
one in January. Our goal is to have each family work 2-3 sessions at the
November meet and 2-3 sessions at the January meet. This will give you the 5
credits needed during short course season. You will also need to work one
session during long course season. Preferably we would like for families to earn
their short course credits during the November and January meets. If for some
reason you are unable to work some of the November and January sessions, then
credits can be earned by working at the middle school and high school swim meets
in their concession stand. If a member does not achieve the 5 short course
credits then they will be billed $60.00 a session. We do this to keep everything
fair for everyone. This is indeed a big commitment, however it takes a large
number of volunteers to host a successful meet and keep membership fees
reasonable.
